It seems I may have been mistaken in my interpretation of things. However the post from Texstar made me go back and revisit the situation. I can't recall what the issue was but I did have a problem at some point. Are you sure this is not something just unique to you or your remaster? Maybe a permission problem in your user folder? I don't know why you keep saying Chromium has a problem saving passwords when it works fine and I've been using it for a while now. But for a live cd it's fine - however if Chromium comes good again then that would be my browser of choice for the ISO.īy the way, what is the name of the song that you used as the sound track to the video of OB you did earlier - love it! Qupzilla is probably the most effective of the light-weight "conventional" browsers out there - although I did find its limits after installation and have replaced it with Chrome on my wife's computer. And that is coming from someone who stayed with Netscape through the "browser wars" and beyond until Firefox took up the torch!! I can't recommend Firefox at all, and point-blank refuse to use it. I can't recommend Chrome, even though I am forced to use it. My preference is for a browser of choice, but Chromium has issues with saving passwords and as such is not fully operational. Usually one would have a browser of choice, or a "sacrificial" browser that is light-weight and is going to be replaced regardless. My issue for the Openbox spin is that I need a browser that just "works" in a conventional manner. The footprint is very small, although it does need "glib-networking" installed to deal with "https" sites - not a listed dependency in the PCLOS repo so maybe that needs to be addressed. I have had to play with the config a bit to get it to work as I like to do things - flash works once you go into prefs and allow it. Regarding your suggestion I have been playing around with dwb - it's pretty cool and seems to work well.
